Phylacteries in the collection of the Polin Museum

Philacteries

Two boxes, one of them decorated with letters and lines. Attached to the boxes are thongs with a knot, the loops of which pass through the holes; one thong runs from the knot as a uniform band, the other as two lines of similar length. One of the letters is the Hebrew letter 'shin', meaning tefillin for the head.
