Album with photographs of Marek Szwarc's metalwork

From an album of photographs with the inscription: "Marek Szwarc cuivres mertelès" [Marek Szwarc, metalwork], all that has survived is the marbled paper cover and a few pages with pasted-on black-and-white reproductions of the artist's works from the 1920s and 1930s. Despite the poor state of preservation, this is an important source, thanks to which we can now identify and locate Szwarc's metal works in museums or private collections, give them their correct, original titles and date them. The artist was mainly known for his metalwork; his metal sheets and sculptures were valued, brought him fame and recognition. The precision of the artistry, the skilful use of material contributes to the artistry and technical excellence of these works, which can be seen, for example, in the photograph of the sculpture "Running Deer" pasted on the cover. Here we present two pages from an album with photographs of two works: "Cain and Abel" from 1925 and "Masks" from 1930. Both photographs were taken by Stanisław London, a photographer and poet highly regarded in Paris, especially in Polish colonial circles.
