The Alchemist

Bok, Teodor (1947-2007)

Jest częścią kolekcji

Alchemist is another youthful work by Teodor Bok, carefully preserved by Ewa Kuryluk. In this still conventional school drawing, we can already see the outline of his future interests – the world of magic, secret formulas, the past. The title alchemist is dressed in a historically stylized costume: pumps, a waistcoat, a white shirt with wide sleeves, a hat with a wide round brim on his head. The interior of his workshop is filled with various utensils: bottles, burettes, bowls, a bulb, an anvil with a hammer, a large jug with ears, a tripod, sacks, boxes, tongs and hooks. Neither the tripod with the black bowl over the hearth nor the big book can be missing from the alchemist's workshop.

A gift from Ewa Kuryluk
