Badge

A badge depicting a man standing among matzevahs in a Jewish cemetery. The figure of the man is on the right, the Yiddish inscription with the date 1918 is on the left. One of the words is illegible, the other stands for לעמבערג (Lviv). The man's hand is directed towards one of the matzevah, which stands out for its height compared to the others (it is the tallest). It bears an inscription in Hebrew: פ "נ (here rests) on its upper part. The object formerly belonged to the collection of the donor's husband, a history enthusiast who collected historical objects related to the heritage of Polish Jews.

A gift from Professor Małgorzata Melchior.
