It is part of the collection

A badge made of red felt. On the surface of the tannin was printed inscription in yellow. The text was created using the technique of pressing felt in a different colour. The pattern of the badge refers to a shield (in the centre) with wings on the sides. The shield is pointed at the bottom and ends with a crown (two hollows) in the upper part. The wings are schematic, almond-shaped. Both the shield and the wings are decorated with a border in the colour of the inscription. The inscription reads "No. 9 B e G School" (on the left wing) "Sports Honor Shield" (on the shield) "Mont-Joli-Que" (on right wing). This is the patch of a school called No. 9 Bombing and Gunnery School, which was located in the town of Mont-Joli in the Canadian province of Quebec. Inaugurated on 15 April 1942, RCAF Mont-Joli was a training base of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan and hosted the No. 9 Bombing and Gunnery School. Among the future RAF aviators training at the No. 9 Bombing and Gunnery School in Quebec was a Polish aviator of Jewish origin, Henryk Roznetal. Today, there is an airfield on the site of the training base in Mont-Joli.
