The Union of Jewish Participants in the Struggle for Polish Independence – Jewish war veteran organisation active in the years 1929–1939, uniting former members of Piłsudski’s Legions and the Polish Military Organisation. The Union had close ties with the Sanation government and followed the philosophy of assimilation. Its main aim, apart from mutual help, was supporting amicable Polish–Jewish relations. At first, the organisation had just three branches: in Warsaw, Lviv, and Stanisławów (today’s Ivano-Frankivsk), but with time, its structures grew (the Przemyśl branch was established in 1934). The Union was also involved in youth-oriented activities – it organised camping trips and summer camps and provided support to scouting groups.
The item was handed over to the collection of the National Museum of Przemyśl in 1969 by the Evidence Office of the Warsaw County Court.
