The hospital was built between 1876 and 1878. The plot of land for its construction was purchased in 1873 by two married couples: Majer and Chaja Bersohn and Salomon and Paulina Bauman. The building, designed by Artur Goebel, was built on a site located between two parallel streets: Sienna and Śliska (hence the double address: 51 Śliska/60 Sienna streets).
