A lid from a commemorative box from Śniatyń (now Sniatyn, Ukraine) that has not been preserved in its entirety. Gift to an unknown Anna from the Jewish woman living in Śniatyń (?), Frida Birnbaum (Birmnbaumówna), as evidenced by the inscription inside the lid.

We do not know the history of this object. The donor, collector Bogusław Gołębiowski, acquired the lid by purchasing various items. During the period of the object's transfer to the collection, he mentioned that when he bought the object, the box was whole, but unlike the lid, the remining part was in very poor condition, damaged by fire, and fell apart.

The lid is stained dark maroon. The hinges have not survived (there is visible deterioration of the wood when they have been mounted and there is also a surviving metal latch part). It has three flowers and the inscription 'SNIATYN' engraved at the top. The composition is enclosed in a rectangular frame delineated by thin, straight lines.

The lid is unpainted inside, where it bears the dedication: “To dear Aneczka | in memory | from Fryda Birnbaumówna || Sniatyn, on 16/IV.1939”.
