Bukovina Musical Culture Development Society offices in Chernivtsi

Photographic documentation of the site

At 12/7 Zankowećkoji Street (Ukr. вулиця Заньковецької, 12/7) [in some sources also 10 Czajkowśkoho Street, Ukr. вулиця Чайковського, 10] it is possible to find a building erected in the years 1876-1877 for the Society for the Development of Music Culture in Bukovina. In 1908, a famous conference on the future of the Yiddish language was held here. Currently, it houses the Chernivtsi Regional Philharmonic (Ukr. Czerniwećka obłasna fiłarmonija, Чeрнівeцька обласна філармонія). On the wall there is a memorial plaque dedicated to the Jewish singer Sidi Tal, who performed here in the years 1945–1983.
