Business card of Ascher Weissmann

This small business card was printed on white paper in the name of Ascher Weissmann from Tarnów – a licensed stonemason. The text was arranged in two languages: on the right in Yiddish, on the left in Polish. Text written in Hebrew font occupies a smaller area. In the Polish version, the font style and size varies. On the top is the business card owner's name and the name of the city.

The business card is at the same time an advertisement. It says that Weissmann ran a large store of marble and granite tombstones at 9 Szpitalna Street. His business also dealt with the restoration of old tombstones. On the reverse is a handwritten note dated 15 March 1934, from which it appears that on that day Ascher Weissmann received the rest of the amount – 250 zlotys for making the tombstone. The handwritten signature of the businessman appears underneath in the lower right corner.

Weissmann's stonemasonry shop was located on the same street as the Jewish Cemetery in Tarnów – at Szpitalna Street.
