The button

Jest częścią kolekcji

The second of two buttons to the Polish Air Force PSP uniform worn by Henryk Rozental. The uniforms of the troops subordinate to the Royal Air Force (including the PSP airmen) were manufactured in Great Britain. The manufacturer's signature visible on the inside of the button tells us that it was produced by Firmin & Sons in London. The manufactory was founded in 1655 and is considered to be one of the oldest companies in Great Britain and one of the longest operating manufactories in the world. Interestingly, since the 17th century (the time of Gregory II's monarchy) to the present day, the company has been supplying buttons to the Monarchy and the British Army and Civil Service. It also produces medals awarded in the United Kingdom. It is likely that the medals that Henry Rozental received in return for his service in the RAF (such as the Star of Africa and the Army Medal) were also produced by Firmin & Sons. MF
