In the old Jewish cemetery in Uman, located at the present address of 3 Hryhorija Kosynki Street (Ukr. вулиця Григорія Косинки) the prominent Hasidic leader Tzaddik Nachman of Braclaw has been buried in 1811. This made the necropolis a major pilgrimage centre, visited by crowds of pilgrims until the 1920s.
