Certificate for Chana Terbiler

It is part of the collection

The document - the certificate concerning the work of Chana Terbler - written on a reused fragment of a red sheet from an official print (Russian-language, boxes written in Kazakh in Latin alphabet; on p. verso in the left column handwritten with dates: from 1-5/January to 10/February). Contents of the "case":

The certificate

The certificate was issued to the employee of the kolkhoz Chapayev H.S. Torbiler in connection with the fact that the above-mentioned citizen was employed there in the period from 1/May to 8/July.

The certificate was issued by the secretary [signature].

Below the circular stamp [illegible].

This is most probably a certificate that was necessary for relocation, e.g. departure from Kazakhstan, a kind of confirmation that Chana was dismissed from work. The lack of an issue date makes it impossible to assign the document to a specific moment of Chana's wandering with Valish in the Asian part of the USSR. However, it is known from another surviving document that Chana was still in the Russian part of the USSR in the summer of 1942, and from family relations that she left Kazakhstan in the spring of 1944 (probably her last place of work was Sastube, Chana's work certificate of 4 March 1944 has survived).
