The collection box of the Jewish National Fund (Hebrew: Keren Kayemet LeYisrael) is an organisation founded in 1901 during the Fifth Zionist Congress held in Basel. Its main task was to raise funds for land purchase and the settlement of Palestine. In the first half of the 20th century, the widely recognised symbol of the Fund were the blue collection boxes, in which Jews from around the world donated voluntary contributions. The collection box in the museum collection dates back to the 1940s and is a private donation. On the front panel, there is a painted map of Palestine with the names of the Jewish colonies established through the initiative of the Fund marked on it. The side panels of the box contain official address information: "Head Office of the Jewish National Fund, Jerusalem. A. Zalcman, Jerusalem. Printed by A. Lewin Epstein."
