Climbing the crown

Chmielewska, Iwona (1960- )

Showing the legs (visible from the thighs) of King Maciuś, with the tips of his shoes supported on a crown leitmotif for the design. As if the king wanted to reach something and needed a lift. In her typical way, Iwona Chmielewska details her drawings, which is particularly striking in compositions which at first glance do not seem to be rich in elements. In this case, attention is drawn to the outlining of brown shoes or to the two buttons visible one above the other on one of the legs. The crown casts a slight shadow on the right side.
