Silver coloured, plated cookie tongs. The tongs consist of two arms joined together at mid-length by a screw. Each arm ends with an oval handle. On the opposite side, there is the gripping part consisting of two openwork (two large holes) plates at the end of each arm. There is no maker's mark on the tongs, which allows the assumption that they were made by a smaller, possibly family-run workshop that did not have its own trademark.

According to the rules of good manners, while a cookie (e.g. butter cookie) should be eaten with the hands, it is not appropriate to put it on a plate from a platter standing on the table without using cutlery. This is done with special tongs, which are used to grasp the cake and place it on the dessert plate. The POLIN Museum's collection also includes a decorative biscuit tin made by the popular pre-war company Branka (MPOLIN-M760).
