The design of theatre scenography – the interior: a kitchen

Pacanowski, Bolesław (1901-1977)

This is another, still pastel-coloured version of the same kitchen (see MPOLIN-M1153). In this modest interior there are only a few furnishings: a table covered with a white tablecloth, two chairs and wooden benches, and a chest. An oil lamp hangs on the wall. In the corner there is a white tiled kitchen. Above the cupboard next to the tiled kitchen hangs a shelf with a decorative top; white plates are arranged on the shelf, on hooks below hangs a quart with one ear, and a white towel. The contours of the floor, doors, windows, tiled kitchen, furniture and objects are emphasised with free contours. The scene is framed by a linear, brown frame.
