Document photograph of Grunia Klitenik

The photograph that Grunia Klitenik sent to her husband in correspondence from the USSR in the mid 1940s.

It was not until the Red Army liberated Belarus that Klitenik received news that her husband was alive and in the Polish Army. Sol Landman, a native of Telechan, left a list of people he was in contact with at the Telechan post office, and he knew, among other things, Leon Klitenik's field mail address. When Grunia Klitenik wrote to friends in Telechany asking for information about her family and for help in getting in touch with her husband, she was sent Sol Landman's address, thanks to which she could write to her husband. She came to see Leon Klitenik in April 1946, in Warsaw, where he was stationed.
