Documents of Fryderyka Pollak

A fifty-eight-page set of documents produced as a result of the proceedings in the case involving the issue of a passport to Fryderyka (Fryda) Pollak. The set includes letters issued by the Olkusz County Office, the identity document in question, as well as correspondence from the applicant's family and her photograph. Fryderyka Pollak, born on 18 August 1897 in Sambor (Sambir), had been working as a clerk at the Rubber Products Factory in Wolbrom since 1929. She was forced to travel abroad due to her sister Maria's illness, who pleaded for her arrival in the following words: "You know our income, and you will understand that I cannot afford a foreign nurse. Secondly, how could I bring a stranger into the house when I can't even get out of bed? She could empty the entire apartment, and I would not be able to prevent it! And now, the worst part!! Dawid has to leave for his trip because it's about time – right before the holidays! [...] Dear Frydzia, I know it will be very difficult for you, but you won't abandon me and you will do this for me, come and help me, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart, in advance, and may God grant me the ability to repay you!"
