Doily

Round doily made of navy-blue velvet, lined with white cotton. The edges are trimmed with ribbon, with openwork scalloping along the outer edge. The rim of the fabric is decorated with embroidered Hebrew text: “Et Chag HaMatzot tishmor shivat yamim / [5]666” (You shall keep the Feast of Matzot for seven days / 1906 [year]). The central part of the doily is embroidered with another Hebrew inscription: “Pesach” (Passover), surrounded by a representation of a wreath made of stylised flowers and leaves.

The item forms part of the prewar collection of the National Museum of Przemyśl. Due to missing inventory documentation it has been impossible to determine how it became property of the Museum.
