Dom Tańca Offenbachów w Łodzi

Photographic documentation of the site

The plot at the junction of 1 Maja and Wólczańska streets, next to the former Szulc Passage, was purchased by Moszek Offenbach in 1902. He commissioned the well-known Łódź architect Gustaw Landau-Gutenteger to design a building with a residential and commercial character. An Art Nouveau, single storey building on a rectangular plan was created. The owner furnished it with representative redoubt and wedding halls where concerts, revue shows, and balls were organised.
