Felicja Blumental's ID

part of the collection

Felicja Blumental complemented the Conservatory of Music matriculation card with the same photo which can be found in the University of Warsaw card (MPOLIN-A30.1.4). The matriculation card, signed by the administrative director of the Conservatory, was valid for the academic year 1931/1932. Felicja was enrolled in the piano class where one of her teachers was Zbigniew Drzewiecki, the then Rector of the Conservatory. As we can read in the “Diary of the Saddest Period of my Youth”, i.e. Felicja’s diary from 1931–1932, under 16 January 1932: “I spent the whole day [at] the conservatory today. In the morning, I had a lesson with Drzewiecki. He praised me and said I played Beethoven’s sonata opus 111 well. It was the first time I played all of it” (see MPOLIN-A30.3.4). | Renata Piątkowska
