Fragment of Stanisława Olchawa’s insurance card

part of the collection
Marta Olchawa – dziewczynka uratowana z getta lwowskiego

Fragment of an insurance card belonging to Stanisława Olchawa, issued by the Social Insurance Company in Opole, most likely in 1948 or 1949 – print in Polish. It is the front page of the cover of a temporary insurance document, green (one sheet). On the obverse, at the upper edge, there is text reading: “Social Insurance Company”, with a stamp underneath reading: “SOCIAL INSURANCE COMPANY | in OPOLE”. In the centre of the page, there is the document title: “Temporary | Card”. Glued to the reverse are document photos of Stanisława Olchawa and Marta Olchawa (born Bauer) (glued one next to the other along the left edge). Stanisława Olchawa’s photo is embossed with an octagonal seal of the insurance company with a crownless eagle and text: “SOCIAL | INSURANCE COMPANY”. A fragment of the same seal is visible on Marta Olchawa’s photo – image of a crownless eagle. The remaining two fields for photos are left blank. At the bottom edge, there is a handwritten signature of the insured person – Stanisława Olchawa. | Text by Monika Harchut
