A scene referring to Lila Ratner's work entitled 'The Destruction of Jericho' (MPOLIN-M1364). Similar to the work depicting a biblical scene, the artist shows the crumbling walls of the city and a group of warriors of the people of Israel in the central part. In this case, however, they are insurgents holding not trumpets but rifles, and the crumbling walls are the walls of the Warsaw ghetto.

By depicting the ghetto insurgents in this way, the artist illustrates their bravery and steadfastness in the fight for freedom. JO
