One of 5 black and white videos with sound in the style of old cinema, included in the work "Szukaliśmy w popiołach”. This work was created with the use of archaeological objects from the collection of the POLIN Museum. The most important element of the video is a rusted, damaged hammer. The first scene shows a hammer on the top of a long wooden chest of drawers, with many drawers, among various contemporary repair and DIY tools. In the subsequent scenes, a hand in a protective glove is seen taking a hammer and a nail and simulating the movements of driving a nail into the seat of a stool. The sounds in the video imitate the action of regular hammering, which emphasises the reality of the scene.
