Lamp supported on three feet – two by the base, third in the backplate. The rectangular base has an undulating front and holds eight vase-shaped oil holders. The openwork backplate has the shape of a six-pointed star inscribed in an oval. The star is supported by two stylised lions standing on an arched band with a Hebrew inscription: “Lehadlik ner Chanukah” – “To kindle the light of Hanukkah”. The rim of the backplate is topped with an openwork three-pointed crown with an additional oil holder (shammash).

The item was purchased for the Museum collection from a private owner in 1984.
