Hanukkah lamp

Jest częścią kolekcji

A Hanukkah lamp with an openwork, centrally uplifted back plate and a symmetrical ornamental decoration with elements of simplified acanthus; the side walls are also openwork. The eight sockets are arranged on a horizontal bar. The main part of the lamp is mounted using screws. In the finial of the back plate, two symmetrical heads of birds (most likely eagles) are visible; they symbolise God's protection over the chosen nation.

The candlestick was lit at home during Hanukkah. The shammash is missing.

Donated by from Margarita Rajewa-Marianowicz.
