Head

Bok, Teodor (1947-2007)

It is part of the collection

Teodor Bok created sculptures from pieces of wood, flat, round boards of different length, size and thickness (see MPOLIN-M44). He also used balls, circles, metal lids and clips, parts of furniture and boxes. As a result, the sculptures’ texture is – as in the case of Głowa [Head] – irregular, rough and coarse. The diversity of the used material, mainly small sized wooden pieces, does not stand in the way of creating a monumental whole. The back of the skull of the man’s head is bulging and rounded, his face is lean with a high forehead, thin nose, and empty eyes and mouth. It belongs to Bok’s world – the world of men and their wars, firearms, planes and war machines.
