Heads DPHU

Bok, Teodor (1947-2007)

part of the collection

This disturbing, full-sized sculpture is not easily subjected to analysis, unwilling to reveal its symbolic meaning. On a tall, thin column (a cardboard tube painted brown was used by the artist) a wooden cuboid pedestal was placed – like a capital. Attached to it are two head-skulls raw in their design. The heads are painted; on one of them, surmounting the column, some facial features are marked; a painted bandage is girding the whole face, white stripes on the cheek – the dressings. The second head, smaller, with huge, wide open eyes, is diagonally attached on the left side.

At the front of the pedestal-capital, a rectangular, golden, wooden plate is nailed. Six spikes radially sticking out from its base connect it with the pedestal.
