Przemysław Jaczewski is an IT specialist, a POLIN Museum staff member. He is actively working to preserve the Jewish heritage of his hometown of Kałuszyn.
His interest in the topic arose by chance, triggered by an article by Paweł Piotr Smoleński in Gazeta Wyborcza entitled "Kałuszyn 1939. Poles 3000, Jews 6500." Reading the text became a transformative experience for Przemek. It not only prompted him to learn about the history of the Jewish community in Kałuszyn, but also awakened a sense of emptiness due to its absence. Przemysław expanded his knowledge and established relationships with descendants of Kaluszyn’s pre-war Jewish community.
One of the most significant collaborations for him was with Joseph Gellman, who organised the commemoration of the Kałuszyn Jewish cemetery. Joseph and Przemek became close friends, and their families now visit each other regularly.
