Jew in a Skullcap Supporting his Head with his Left Hand

Majcher, Alojzy (1907-1943)

The lithograph Jew in a Skullcap Supporting his Head with his Left Hand by Alojzy Majcher, an artist from Tarnów, shows a ¾ view of the bust of a man. The bearded man is facing the right edge of the image field. His eyes are closed, and his head supported by his left hand. He is wearing a round, flat, brimless cap, suggesting that the portrayed man may have been a Jew from the Russian partitioned territories. In the lower left corner of the composition, there is an author's inscription: "lithography". In the lower right corner, at the same height, there is a signature: "AMajcher".
