The Jewish Dormitory in Warsaw

Photographic documentation of the site

The Jewish Dormitory (7 Sierakowskiego Street) is a grand building created on the initiative of Eng. Mojżesz Koerner and designed by Henryk Stifelman in the style of the Polish Renaissance. The façade is decorated with numerous bas-reliefs depicting allegorical scenes. There is also a cartouche with the letters AAJ - Auxilium Academicum Judaicum, which literally means aid to Jewish students. It was the Association for Aid to Jewish Students that funded the construction of the building in 1926.
