Landscape of Kazimierz

Lewensztadt, Henryk (1893-1962)

The painting from 1926 (oil, plywood, 51.5 x 66 cm) presents a landscape of Kazimierz Dolny. In the foreground, there is a meander of the Vistula River, which is the dominant element of the composition. The bushes on the right side obscure some of the town's buildings, but the red roofs of the buildings, mainly granaries, are clearly visible. At the bottom left, a partially erased signature: "H. Lewensztadt".
