Letter to Anna Zimmermann (III)

For some time after the war, Józef Hochsinger, Natalia Zajczyk's brother, lived in Bydgoszcz. Natalia spent a few weeks as a guest with her brother and sister-in-law. From there she wrote her sister Anna Zimmermann the letter, which began with a strong request: "Dear Andzia! I have received your parcels. Two food parcels. Józiek also received 2 food parcels. He asked you not to send him anything - he is not too bad. Surely it is worse for you. Natalia continued by describing her future plans: returning to Warsaw and getting a job, asking about Anna's health, her son Ispus, and about her relatives and friends living in Palestine: "Tell me, Andzia, from the bottom of your heart, how are your affairs? Who do you correspond with? Is the family of Cwi [Anna's husband - R.P.] alive? Are they friends with you? Don't you (God forbid!) need help yourself? But write the truth". (The letter from Natalia Zajczyk to Anna Zimmermann, 16 February 1946). | Renata Piątkowska
