Letter to Ewa Małkowska-Bieniek

The letter from Dawid Zylbert to the Małkowski family on a sheet of lined paper. Dawid Zylbert writes: "our grandson, who's name is Ido, the son of our daughter Hana, who lives in kibbutz Nir-Dawid, something you were with her when you were in Israel [...] now he is to come to Poland with his whole class [...] they come especially to Poland to know exactly what happened and how the Nazis murdered 6 million Jews during the war". Class trips to Poland, to Holocaust sites, have become a permanent element of Israeli school education since the late 1990s. The letter also outlines the situation in Israel: "It's quiet in Israel now, they're not bombing or shooting and we're living a normal life now, but there's no shortage of day-to-day problems like in every country."
