Letter to Halina Kraus

It is part of the collection

Letter from Bronisława Roller to her sister on 1 page. From the body of the letter (original spelling): “I’ve just received your card and I’m glad that you’re feel relatively better and that you’ve managed to leave the hospital. As I’ve already written to you in my two previous letters, you must take great care of yourself, take care not to catch a cold, eat well and not worry about anything. Make no qualms and get yourself warm underwear at mister W’s shop. I have been wearing woollen underwear all winter here, everyone here wears it, especially at your place, where the winter is so harsh. Elegance has to be removed from our lives for the moment and only health should be taken care of. Today we’ve also received a letter from Mietek with a card from our Dear Parents attached. It’s the first direct sign of life from there, so you can imagine how happy we were. They are not well off, poor souls, but certainly not as bad as we imagine from afar, especially now that Franek is with them.”
