Letter to Halina Kraus

part of the collection

The letter from Wladyslaw Glocer to his sister on 2 cards. From the contents of the letter (original spelling): "In 4 weeks you will be a year older again as far as the measure of time is concerned, and perhaps a number of normal pre-war years as far as experience is concerned. Yes, all of us, I'm thinking of survivors from Europe, experience a lot, a lot... Who could have imagined that we would be so strong as to experience so much, and yet we live, because life is above all a duty to others, and to a lesser extent to ourselves. If we, in spite of everything that has happened to us, can still live, it is proof of how attached we are to life. I believe that in spite of all that has befallen them, ours too will survive everything and that we will still draw them with tears to our hearts (?). I believe, because I have to believe, and besides, our home was constantly under divine protection". | MW
