Letter to Hendrik Berinson

part of the collection

Artur Tanikowski writes: "Samuel's younger sister, Natalia 'Niusia' Szczekacz, who changed her name to Helen Dore some time after the war, recalled that her brother had been intensely interested in various art forms from a young age, with a particular liking for oil painting and charcoal drawing. He was also said to have used the airbrush with great fervour. He was apparently very keen on taking unposed photographs, directing the lens at those closest to him" (Artur Tanikowski, "Obraz i jego granice. O Samuelu Szczekaczu", in: Samuel Szczekacz. Obraz i jego granice 1933-1939", Olszewski Gallery, Warsaw, 4.06-31.07.2020, https://olszewskigallery.com/samuel-szczekacz/, accessed 13 December 2022). | RP
