Letter from Marek Szwarc to Gina Pinkus

"Dear Gineczka

I regret at this moment that you initiated your parents into our plan to go to Zakopane. For various reasons, you should have taken your time. The sale of my works is still in its pre-historic stage and lives only in Neuman's fantasy. If I had to wait for a historical solution, I could have waited a month in Warsaw, or maybe I wouldn't have waited at all. So one must not count on this 5000 Mrk [marks]. And to go to Zakopane with 500 Mrk (I managed to spend 500 before finishing the portrait) is perhaps not entirely logical [...]'. (original spelling). However, the young couple managed to reach the capital of the Polish Tatra Mountains, and the stay there was described years later by Gina in her diary "Les mémoires de Guina. Marek. Les années des marriages". [Memoirs of Gina. Marek. Years of Marriage], see MPOLIN-A12.1.29. elabor. Renata Piątkowska
