Letter from Marek Szwarc to Gina Szwarc

Szwarc wrote to his wife about the books he read, the critical information for refugees he read in the press, and about poetry - Gina's poems sent to him and Julian Tuwim's poems read in the newspapers: "Sweet wife. It is Monday morning. I'm sending you a poetry cut from a magazine. Have you read the latest issue of the Wiadomości Liter. [Polish Literary News]? (Szwarc probably meant the weekly "Wiadomości Polskie, Polityczne i Literackie" [Polish, Political and Literary News) published in 1940-1944, which was a continuation of the pre-war "Wiadomości Literackie". There is a fragment from Tuwim's poem. Not bad. And other poetry" (original spelling). Most probably, Szwarc sent his wife fragments of the poem "Kwiaty Polskie" [Polish Flowers] by Julian Tuwim, printed since February 1941 in the pages of "Wiadomości Polskie" [Polish News] .
