Letter to Markus (Marek) Mizny

It is part of the collection

A letter from Felicja Blumental to her husband Marek (Markus) Mizne of 26 January 1940, written in Luxembourg, where Felicja was staying with her parents and her daughter Aneczka (Anette Celine). “Everything is going the same old way for us, we’re living in constant fear and uncertainty,” Felicja reported to her husband. “All our sun and delight is the sweet Aneczka. She is a sage, deity and sweetness. [...] Aneczka has wonderful dark blond hair, a short nose, divine (?) dark eyes, dimples in her cheeks and one under the left eye like mine. She has my upper lip and the bottom one yours, and your “mischievous gaze” and high forehead. [...] She looks very much like you and everyone calls her “Mareczek”. If you saw her now, you could not live without her for a moment. May she would live healthy and long to our joy.” Annette Celine was born in 1939 in Luxembourg and grew up in Rio de Janeiro. She was an opera singer, a soprano. She died in 2017 in Tel Aviv. | Renata Piątkowska
