Letter to Markus (Marek) Mizny

part of the collection

Felicja Blumental’s letter written on 4 April 1940 to her husband, Marek Mizne. Felicja and her daughter Aneczka (Annette Celine) were then living, along with Felicja’s parents, in Luxembourg (see letter MPOLIN-A30.2.7). | “I have not written to you for 2 weeks, I was constantly hoping that I would leave any day, but unfortunately I do not have enough money to go on any ship. I have to wait for the tourist class, and such a ship will not be available until the end of this month: it’s called “Piropolis”, it is sailing from Antwerp”. | In 1940, just before the invasion of France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, Felicja and her daughter managed to leave Europe and join her husband and father in Brazil. | Renata Piątkowska
