From the contents of the letter (spelling slightly modified): "We are very pleased that you are happy and that you are well and that you are trying [to] get passes for us and for your uncle. Parents ask for photographs - friends have already received photographs from children in Russia (USSR). "If we manage to get a pass for us it would be not bad..."
