Letter to Tadeusz Perl

part of the collection

A letter dated October 1942 from Maria Karczmarek, who had acted as an intermediary for all previous correspondence between the ghetto family and Tadeusz Perl. The collection does not contain letters from July, August and September 1942, i.e. the Grossaktion period, which Leon, Melania and Jadwiga Perl survived.

The letter has two smudges – blue and grey – on both sides. They do not appear to be random or ornamental. similar lines are found on different lists from different Warsaw senders: German service markings?
