Letter to Tadeusz Perl

part of the collection

A letter from Maria Karczmarczyk on a postcard.

Tadeusz and Jadwiga's parents are certainly no longer alive at the time of writing the letter, since Karczmarczyk proposes to cash in the clock – probably from their belongings or those of Jadwiga née Perl, which apparently remains with the woman.

Warsaw 7 VII 43

Dear Sir,

I received the recent packages, namely the powder in sachets; please do not send any more packages, as they are not needed. Jadzia left on 5 July this year – something she was happy about, hoping to see her brother. A few days ago, a card was sent to you, informing about her departure; I assume you will receive that card before this latest one. –

Next, I kindly ask you for an honest answer regarding sending packages to you. If I could send anything, what would you like? Let me know. – I can have money from the sale of the white marble clock, which you probably remember.

Greetings and best wishes

Maria
