My Dear! We have received the texts. The issue will be sufficiently filled, we'll even leave one article for the next issue. On the other hand, it's worse than bad with advertisements. It's holiday season, so all the various people from whom it's possible to get an advertisement are absent. For this reason, the September issue will be outstandingly loss-making. Hopefully we'll cover the loss with the proceeds for the October issue. No 100 zlotys have been sent, and I don't know anything about this at all. Please explain. There's the article in N.P.[“Nasz Przegląd”] (the “Our Review”) today [i.e., Tadeusz Perl's text was printed], and there were a total of 5 articles in it this month. I've submitted an application to the Foreign Exchange Consulate (Polish: Konsulat Dewizowy) for 900 zlotys. It's possible that you'll receive a permit. Despite this, I recommend an economic lifestyle, as francs are undoubtedly spent easily, even though they are cheap for our currency. I'm sending copies of my correspondence with the Customs Office in Gdynia. I consider the conduct of this Office to be very correct, for which I've also expressed my thanks. [The copies in question are missing from the correspondence set – E.M.-B.].

Nothing special at home. I continue commuting to Konstancin, where we'll stay for another week. The weather got worse, and it has been cloudy and partly rainy for the past three days. But it doesn't bother me, personally I like the silence of the countryside, as it gives me respite. Staś [Wohl] is about to get a new job, on a big film by Lejtes [it seems that the collaboration did not happen – ed]. Do you want us to send you any Polish newspapers e.g. Wiadomości Literackie (the “Literary News”) [...] etc. Please provide more details regarding your living conditions. Kind regards, kisses

Leon

We addressed to “Venies”[?] because that's what you stated.
