Handwritten letter, inscribed on both sides of a single sheet of letterhead, in the upper left corner of the first page imprint reads: “ANATOL-DAWID ESTRYN | ADVOCATE | Warsaw, 32 Świętojerska Street flat 1 | Phone number. 12-08-91”.

Dear Mr Tadeusz!
I dare to make the following request to you, and I apologise in advance for bothering you with my affairs.
I would be most grateful if you would buy and send me by post several magazines, the titles of which I list below. They are children's magazines, and you will find them at any newsagent:
1. "Almanach de Jeudi"
2. "Almanach de l’As"
3. "Almanach de Betty"
4. "Almanach de Vacances (Pour les Jeunes)"
5. Almanach de Pierrot
6. Almanach d’ Olive
7. Almanach de Marius
8. Almanach de Frangipane et Carafon
9. Almanach d’Oeil de Fancon
10. Almanach de Lisette [next to all but 6 and 10 there are dashes, next to 6th and 10th question marks]
All of them are annuals. I am referring to the 1939 issues (I already have the 1938 ones – they are antedated). These almanacs will cost, without postage, c-a 30 francs (that's what they cost last year – they may have gone up a bit now). I would very much appreciate it if you would inform me (possibly through Peska) of the costs you have incurred in total and to whom I should pay them: your father, Peska, or to “Nasz Przegląd” (the “Our Review”).
I am very sorry to burden you with this matter, but I see absolutely no other way of obtaining these magazines, which I need very much. I sincerely thank you in advance and apologise for the inconvenience.
Always ready to return your favour
I remain
