Letter to an unknown councillor

A letter on a business card with an imprint: S. Włodawer, and below, at the bottom edge: Warsaw; A handwritten note on the right: Pańska 45. This is a short letter written by Szmul Ber Włodawer, father of Artur Włodawer, on his business card, to a counselor (surname is not specified). The excerpt: "Dear Mr. Counselor! | I refer to the conversation and the promise given me regarding the placement of the boy Szmul Mordka Warszawski in the municipal colony, in the memory of my father-in-law Wolf Klein". The card was, as it is clear from the further content, the cover letter of an attached application regarding Szmul Mordka, an orphan.

Szmul Ber, like his father, Abram, was a trader, he lived at 45 Pańska Street (hence the address on the card). Abram's address occuring in the address book "Cała Warszawa" of 1930: Twarda 29.
