Letter to Władysław Glocer

part of the collection

Letter from Teofil Glocer to his son on 2 pages. From the body of the letter (original spelling): “Today marks the second year since the memorable day we split up – a day that was to become epochal in your life because it led you to where and what you are. Our beloved Martuchna regretted very much that at that time she couldn’t leave the village just like that and reach the station. Our wishes and prayers, which on that day and at that hour followed the wagon that carried you off into the unknown, have accompanied you and still accompany you, and we ask God to keep you and all of us in good health so that we can all reunite as soon as possible safely. That day, September 5, will then become a day of celebration and remembrance for all of us. I’m sure that today, at least for a few minutes, you also thought about that blessed moment, which should inspire you with a sincere conviction to remain worthy of the grace and miracle, which, by the Higher Will, happened to you. So many of your colleagues, acquaintances and even relatives, like Lolek and Mietek, are in a worse situation, which is why you do well by repaying your debt of gratitude to the Higher Will by helping the weak and disinherited in such hard times.”
