From the body of the letter (original spelling): “With my letter of December 31, I ended the old year, which was so painful for us, and with this first letter of the new year, I express the hope that the good Lord will send us solace and healing of the wounds inflicted on us, so that we may all enjoy permanent health, contentment and happiness from now on.
